"Longyard Estate Is Challenging
The Traditional Built Form.
The Longyard Estate has developed over a number of years as
a vibrant new place on the edge of Tamworth. Focused around a
golf course, the housing estate accommodates all residents' needs
with attention to detail in small parks, public art and feature
street planting which create a sense of place.
The developer has successfully integrated a number of major
support facilities, including a regional sporting complex and
entertainment centre, which provides excellent facilities for
residents without intruding on the lifestyle options.
The development is
challenging the traditional built form and succeeding in providing
a diverse range of homes in keeping with the more traditional
Tamworth architecture but responding to modern layouts, sustainability
and place."

Who is the UDIA?
The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) is Australia’s
peak representative body for all segments of the urban development
industry. They believe in affordable, sustainable, and liveable
communities.
The UDIA NSW supports and nurtures innovation and continued
improvement in the development industry through its annual Awards
for Excellence program. The Awards for Excellence create an informed
forum for discussion on urban development trends and standards
promoting greater industry, government and public support for
the benefits and values of excellence in urban development.
The urban development industry and consumers alike regard these
